How to verify a university notice before acting on it
A notice can affect an application, examination, fee payment, or deadline. Before sharing it or making a decision, take a moment to verify the original source and the details that apply to your course.

1. Find the original issuing source
Look for the notice on the university's official website or the official website of the department, college, examination authority, or other body named in the notice. A screenshot in a group can help you discover an announcement, but it is not the same as checking the original notice. If the original link is missing, search the issuing body's official notices or announcements section.
2. Read the full notice, not just its headline
Check the publication date, subject, course or programme, year or semester, category, application window, eligibility, required documents, and any instructions in the attachment. Read footnotes and page two as well. A notice for one course or session may not apply to another, even when the titles look similar.
3. Confirm dates and later corrections
Look for a revised notice, extension, corrigendum, or cancellation published after the original. If two sources show different dates, do not assume that the older or more widely shared one is correct. Follow the latest official communication or contact the relevant office for clarification.
4. Be careful with payment requests and links
Do not rely only on a payment link forwarded in a message. Navigate to the official website yourself and follow its published process. Check the domain spelling and the purpose of the fee. Never share an OTP, password, or banking PIN with someone claiming to help with an application. If a payment instruction looks unusual, pause and verify it with the institution through a contact method listed on its official website.
5. Check the document itself
When viewing a PDF, check whether the pages are complete and readable, whether the document identifies the issuing office, and whether the reference number or date is visible where expected. These signs alone do not prove authenticity, so use them alongside the official source. A cropped image may leave out eligibility conditions or a later page with important instructions.
Before you act: a quick checklist
- I found the notice on an official issuing source.
- The course, year or semester, and category match my situation.
- I checked the complete document and all relevant dates.
- I looked for a revised notice or deadline extension.
- I reached any payment or application page through the official process.
- I saved the source link and document for reference.

We may help students discover information, but the issuing institution's current notice is the authoritative source for deadlines, eligibility, fees, and examination rules.
